Hobsonville Point is set to become “the newest cricketing suburb in Auckland” with plans to introduce the game at Hobsonville War Memorial Park. Supported and funded by Takapuna District Cricket Club (TDCC), the proposal is endorsed by the Auckland Cricket Association (ACA) and Auckland Council has granted permission to use the park. TDCC is now seeking interest from Hobsonville Point residents in its plans, which offer numerous options to cater for young and old, and all levels of experience. “We hope to turn Hobsonville Point into the newest cricketing suburb in Auckland,” says Amita Weerakoon, TDCC’s Director of Cricket.
