As part of future-proofing Hobsonville Point, high-speed broadband is provided to all houses, schools and commercial premises. Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB or Fibre) is the best way to connect to the net and is crucial to our evolving home and work environments.

At Hobsonville Point, Chorus installs the fibre and then residents request connection through an Internet Service Provider such as Spark, Vodafone, 2 Degrees, Slingshot or MyRepublic.

MyRepublic is New Zealand’s first fibre broadband-only Internet Service Provider. It has been working with Universal Homes, GJ Gardner Homes, Jalcon Homes and Willis Bond & Co to make sure Hobsonville Point homes are connected with fibre before new residents move in. Another service provider, Trustpower, has teamed up with Classic Builders to provide a broadband offer for new home clients.

New residents should shop around to see which service provider best suits their needs. To help make the connection process run smoothly, home owners should contact their chosen service provider about six weeks prior to moving in to their new home. This will help confirm that their home is registered with the service provider as being ‘fibre ready’.
