Franklin the miniature dachshund and his human Abigail

Stroll around the Coastal Walkway at Hobsonville Point on any given day and you’ll meet puppers small and large taking their humans for walkies.

The dogs of Hobsonville Point love to gather at the Te Onekiritea-Bomb Point dog park for a group exercise session, or at the Catalina Bay Farmers Market to catch up on the latest gossip or treat themselves to a little something from Waggamuffin. They’re such valued patrons that the farmers market even hosts regular VIP pet days, featuring live music, entertainment and extra stalls offering products and services just for pets.

Life is pretty sweet for their humans too, who can bring their furbabies on the ferry, and rest easy knowing their pets are welcome in apartments across Hobsonville Point, such as at Uku and Kerewhenua.

Dogs are truly part of the fabric of life at Hobsonville Point, so we think it’s time we gave them a share of the spotlight.  We’ll be publishing a story in the 2020 issue of Point Life magazine that will celebrate the dogs of Hobsonville Point (and their humans). For a chance to have your dog featured, check out the Hobsonville Point Facebook page.
