Hobsonville Point is a peninsula that juts out into the Waitemata Harbour, a 20-minute drive northwest of Auckland's CBD. Until recently it was a defence base, but it is now being developed for all Aucklanders.

Developing the whole site will take 5 more years. The project is being facilitated by HLC, which is a subsidiary of Housing New Zealand. The scale of the development might surprise you. It's much more than a housing subdivision, it's a master planned community. A decade from now Hobsonville Point will have 4,500 homes and its harbourside location and character-rich streets will be home to around 11,000 Aucklanders. But don't take our word for it.
