We’re really excited to introduce Alex Nilsson Skog to the Hobsonville Point community and beyond. Alex recently came on board as our new Information Centre Manager, after working part-time as an Information Centre Assistant for the past two years. As a local Point dweller herself, Alex knows a thing or two about the neighbourhood and the homebuyer journey. We recently chatted to Alex about her background, and her new role with the Hobsonville Point Development team.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself, Alex?
I’m originally from Sweden and have lived in Hobsonville Point since 2018. My husband and I decided to start our family here and we’ve enjoyed seeing our son become a part of the community. In our spare time we like to explore our neighbourhood, visit the lovely playgrounds, and watch all the yellow diggers hard at work!

What does your role involve and what do you enjoy the most about your new job?
It’s a great opportunity to meet local residents and to introduce the development to visitors. I really appreciate the chance to share useful information with first time homebuyers starting out with their individual homebuyer journey.

What do you love the most about the Hobsonville Point community?
Exactly that – the community! There’s such a strong sense of togetherness here. We often pop over to our neighbour’s home for a spontaneous week day dinner, the Point is such a special place, full of great people.

What are some of the benefits of visiting the Information Centre?
We can provide a complete overview of all the homes that are for sale, the latest price list, opening hours for the display suites and a sense of the rich history of Hobsonville Point. We also have resources to share about many of Kāinga Ora’s financial support products, designed to give people a helping hand into homeownership.

When is the best time to visit?
Visitors are welcome to the Information Centre seven days a week from 10am to 4pm. It’s a great place to start. My best tip for spring is to take the weekend ferry to Catalina Bay and visit the Farmers Market and eateries. Pick up some delicious food and discover Te Ara Manawa, a 5km long coastal walkway. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the different parts of Hobsonville Point.

If you’d like to learn more about the Hobsonville Point development and the homebuyer journey, don’t hesitate to pop into our Info Centre for an in-person chat. We're open 7 days, from 10am to 4pm at 1 Hastings Street. You can also book a one-on-one appointment online in advance, email info@hobsonvillepoint.co.nz or phone 09 954 1029.
