The Te Ara Manawa - Hobsonville/Onekiritea coastal walkway  has been a work in progress since 2006. Come the weekend of the 17th of November, the new Hobsonville attraction will finally be complete. To celebrate, HLC is holding a weekend-long gala event packed with great food, coffee and plenty of entertainment. This family-friendly event is designed for all ages and abilities. The walkway forms an easy 5km loop which traces the coast of Hobsonville Point and passes through a variety of local amenities and points of interest along the way.

What’s happening on the day?

Eat

There will be plenty of food and drink options available at the event. Food trucks, coffee stops and ice cream trucks will be dotted around the walkway. There will also be a Little Creatures craft beer pop up for the adults and the Catalina Bay Farmers Market will be in full swing. Local favourites Catalina Café and Fabric Café and Bistro are both accessible from the walkway.

Rove

Attendees have the option of going clockwise or anticlockwise around the loop and starting and finishing at any point. The walkway is relatively flat and wheel-friendly so wheelchairs, prams, and small children’s scooters and bikes are welcome (teens and adults please leave the wheels at home this time). Look out for the information boards describing all of the historical and natural features along the walkway.
