Hundreds of families flocked to the Hobsonville Point family fun day on Sunday 22 August. The day was a great success - with a fantastic turnout! Around 1500 people came to enjoy the sunshine, playground, café and activities. There was a lot of interest in the houses that are being built for occupancy in March next year, and the development as a whole.
While the children were kept entertained, parents wandered through the new Information Centre, where they could get details about the plans for Hobsonville Point.
The new Catalina Café was bursting with people, and kids queued up for ice-cream, face painting and the bouncy castles, and the new nature- themed playground was a big hit with the kids. The playground contains sculptural elements of supersized native plant seeds made from steel that children can play on or in, and also serves as a ‘living classroom’.
We have already started working on our next community event to be held later in the year, which will feature a children’s bike ride around the new park and the first stage of the new coastal walkway.
The Catalina Café and Hobsonville Point Information Centre is open daily and combined with the new playground and the coastal circuit Hobsonville Point is the perfect place for a family outing.
