Hobsonville Point canines have a new playground. An area at Bomb Point has been fenced off to provide residents with an off leash area for their dogs to have a run around. It’s a stunning setting for pooches and their owners. There are lovely mature trees providing some shade, and the grass is left to grow a little long for the dogs to explore.
Local resident Helen Trigg says, “It’s lovely to see the new off lead dog park finished here at The Point. With secure fencing and a very well designed double gate entrance I think it’s a great addition to our dog walks. Sprinkles pictured loves sniffing for rabbits and chasing fellow dogs madly around the space, then resting in the shade of one of the many trees to get her breath back. Lovely benches for owners as well make this space really usable for the community”.
There are some simple considerations that are asked of owners to help ensure all visitors enjoy the area. These include making sure dogs are licensed and vaccinated, are more than six months old, and to leave the park for another day if their dog becomes overly aggressive or anxious. Dogs are expected to be on leash in all other areas around Hobsonville Point.
