Early in the new year, you might notice a few changes afoot at Catalina Bay. Work will begin on an eighteen month programme of work to transform the area into a safe and inviting pedestrian-friendly space, with upgraded paving, seating and planting. This is an exciting step towards Catalina Bay’s evolution into a world-class waterfront.
Work is being done in a staged way to minimise disruption to locals, and will be broadly split into three stages. Stages 1A and 1B will start near the Launch Road roundabout, with construction moving towards the ferry terminal in Stages 2 and 3.
Once construction begins, vehicle access to Catalina Bay will be permanently limited to mobility card holders and a drop off/pick up zone via Hudson Bay Road only. Public car parking will be available on both sides of Bomb Point Drive where it joins Launch Road. And of course, bus and ferry access will continue; or you can bike, scoot, stroll or jog your way there via the Coastal Walkway.
